Racism, that great sin of the modern age, is so universally reviled and denounced that no one has actually described or defended it with the aim of elaborating on the variety of ways by which someone may relate themselves to race. By the Progressive standard, there are essentially two possible positions on race. Either one accepts that all differences in outcome between groups is the sole responsibility of whites being racist against those groups, or one is a white supremacist who would consign anyone of insufficient whiteness to the gas chambers as soon as he were in power. One must overlook how this implies only whites are capable of agency, because pointing out how the Progressive narrative denies self-determination to non-whites makes you a racist, not the one promoting the subhuman nature of non-whites. Ironic? Of course. The Progressives are universalists of the very worst kind: according to them, everyone wants what they want. To suggest that blacks, Hispanics, Asians, and Native Americans might not aspire to the hallmarks of upper-middle class white culture is sheer bigotry.

From such a perspective, one might wonder how Progressives are not consistently frustrated in their efforts to Brahminize non-Brahmins, except that one must remember that by the Progressive narrative non-whites aren’t possessed of agency. Non-whites are only capable of the outcomes whites choose for them. If the non-whites reject aspirational whiteness, this isn’t because they honestly prefer something different than Progressive Brahmins, but because of evil racist whites.

This seems a more damaging racism than those racisms which seek not the extermination or enslavement of other races, but the separation and segregation from each other. The average “racist” in these parts, such as myself, actually does want to see those people of other races do well, I only acknowledge they can only do as well as they choose to do, and no amount of redistribution will make a difference for reasons of inviolable natural law. “How might different races be arranged to optimal outcomes?” is a question the Progressive has only one answer to: redistribution of capital and opportunity to non-whites. When this is proven to not work and welfare programs are the only thing which guards against complete social disintegration, it is only insisted the programs are insufficiently leftist in character. It can be easily suggested that welfare programs aren’t meant to be effective in terms of reducing the overall level of poverty, but to increase the overall level of poverty so that one’s access to material resources is secured by voting for the right person. Is it mere coincidence that blacks vote overwhelmingly Democrat? As long as Democrats are basically guaranteed the black vote, they really have no incentive to reconsider their solutions, because even if they don’t produce their ostensible effects, at least it’s a costless (to the politician, not to the taxpayer and society in general) means of securing votes. Does the NAACP care that blacks are treated like chattel whose only purpose is to vote Democrat? (If blacks started voting overwhelmingly Republican, then what would happen to them..?)

Helping someone requires acknowledging the actual state and capabilities of that individual. We never make the mistake of supposing that everyone will be able to run a marathon; in these cases we accept that some people are just born with advantageous traits, and others aren’t. It is a curiosity of the modern age that this understanding doesn’t extent to psychological traits. We know that the optimal diet and exercise regimen will be specific to the individual’s own physiology and preferences, but we act like narrow-minded bigots when it comes to education.

Only a great fool would suggest that with the right schooling an individual with 80 IQ could become an astrophysicist. That said, there clearly are many such great fools, and so educational programs intended to attempt just that are repeatedly begun before clearly failing. If there is such a thing as too little education, there is also too much education. The point beyond which an individual will not learn skills which will benefit the careers they will most likely hold is a waste, not only of society’s resources but most crucially that individual’s time. It is only in the 20^th century that educational attainment and income have become so closely correlated. Is this because educational attainment actually imbues general intelligence and character to the individual? Probably not. The average individual recognizes that he rarely, if ever, uses what he learned in high school at his job (let alone his college education). The ability of a person to excel scholastically is a greater indicator of his innate intellectual traits, just as the ability of a person to excel athletically is a greater indicator of his innate athletic traits. An individual with an IQ of 80 isn’t capable of high academic achievement. The Progressive handwringing which results of this simple fact occurs only because they define life success and self-actualization in their own terms; they are blind to the possibility of success and self-actualization which isn’t of a strictly white character. Indeed, this blind dedication to the notion that success is only in terms of what the Progressive desires for himself and his own incurs incalculable harm on non-whites. The racist who only desires that racial groups be allowed self-determination is evil, but the anti-racist who adamantly believes anyone who doesn’t want what they want are less human is holy.

The prohibition of non-Progressive perspectives on race has driven the development of optimal and correctly ordered forms of racial prejudice underground. This produces an effect similar to that found in black markets such as illegal drugs. Because the production and distribution is not allowed to take place in the light of day, the price is higher and the quality harder to determine. Do dumb whites gravitate to the forms of racism we were warned about because they are evil, or only because they are dumb and better functioning social norms aren’t allowed to occur? Anyone who perceives the biological reality of race understands this will have an impact on how people form their racial prejudices, but the production of more pro-social norms regarding the development and expression of racial prejudices cannot take place for as long as being sensible and non-Progressive is shouted down in those corners where the most optimal forms are likely to be developed. If you make racism the domain of stupid whites, you shouldn’t be surprised that it has the characteristics associated with stupid whites. The supposition that all expressions of racial prejudice must be of this one specific kind is absurd and shortsighted. Indeed, this identification of racism with that of the racial prejudices exhibited by stupid whites in the 19^th and early to mid-20^th century is precisely what allows Progressives to fail to perceive how they attribute no agency to non-whites.

It would be a mistake to construe their view as racism, however. Better words for it are foolish, bigoted, and evil.
